Project challenges: The membrane system required frequent cleaning. The desalination capacity and water yield of membrane elements declined rapidly and failed to meet design standards.
Solutions: We monitored inlet water quality for 2 consecutive months to find out the root causes.

A 15-day laboratory chemical test and 30-day on-site dosing trial were carried out for formula optimization. We adjusted cleaning chemicals and frequency to minimize membrane damage, provided monthly professional training for operators, and rectified scaling defects caused by insufficient inlet water volume.
Results: All operational parameters returned to normal after cleaning. Scaling and mechanical damage were effectively controlled, and the overall service life of membrane elements was prolonged.
